CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT PREVIEW – 2012/2013 DIVISION

Championship Night Preview – 2012/2013 Division

One Night. Two Medal Games. One Champion.

The stage is set for the biggest night of the Gateway Hockey Summer League season.

After nine weeks of competitive hockey, the 2012/2013 Division will conclude its summer on Monday, July 20th at Sadlon Arena, where four deserving teams will battle for medals and the opportunity to etch their names into Gateway Hockey history.

At the end of the evening, only one team will skate away with "The Dock"—our championship trophy.

In addition to crowning our league champions, the evening will also feature the presentation of the Red Chair Award, awarded to the Most Valuable Player of the 2012/2013 Division. Throughout the summer, players have competed with passion, sportsmanship, and determination, and one player will be recognized for an outstanding season.

🥉 Bronze Medal Game

5:00 PM – Sadlon Arena

AJ Pieprzak RBC vs. Georgian Communities

This matchup features two teams that know each other very well.

During the regular season, Georgian Communities earned victories in both meetings, winning 6-3 in the first matchup before following it up with a 4-1 victory later in the season.

However, championship hockey is different. The regular season is behind them, and AJ Pieprzak RBC will have one final opportunity to flip the script and finish their season with a Bronze Medal.

Expect a fast, physical game between two teams that have battled hard all summer long.

🥇 Gold Medal Game

6:30 PM – Sadlon Arena

Diamond & Diamond vs. The Skating Treadmill

The Gold Medal Game features an exciting rematch between two outstanding teams.

The Skating Treadmill swept the regular season series, defeating Diamond & Diamond 5-3 in their first meeting before earning a 3-1 victory in the second.

But playoff hockey has already proven that anything can happen.

After entering the playoffs as the fourth seed, Diamond & Diamond shocked the league by upsetting the first-place Georgian Communities in the semifinals, earning their opportunity to compete for the championship.

The Skating Treadmill has been one of the league's most consistent teams from opening night through the playoffs, while Diamond & Diamond enters the final with confidence and momentum after one of the biggest victories of the season.

With both teams playing their best hockey, fans can expect a championship game worthy of the Gateway Hockey Summer League title.

The Dock Awaits

Every shift, every save, every blocked shot, and every goal has led to this moment.

By the end of Championship Night, one team will lift The Dock as the 2026 Gateway Hockey Summer League Champions, while one player will be presented with the prestigious Red Chair Award as the league's Most Valuable Player.

We encourage all players, families, sponsors, and fans to come out and celebrate an incredible summer season. Let's fill Sadlon Arena, recognize the achievements of our players, and enjoy one final night of outstanding hockey.

Good luck to all four teams—we'll see you at Championship Night!
